I only had a brief conversation but he said it was merbau and its going to be about 40 square meters at only 300 off the ground. I was a bit shocked at the price maybe I just had no idea how much these things cost. Duke would be quoting that price on some well suited timber for the job so you have to make sure they are not using anything less or anything that is not suitable just because they get it cheaper. It would be a little cheaper with blackbutt/ stringybark decking.
