Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Jul 05, 2009 3:15 pm Hi all my house is meant to be finished in Sept, and I want to get a Pergola installed pretty much right off the bat.. I want it installed outside the siding door attached to house and the rest free standing obviously, about 4.5m x 4.5m approx I'm thinking timber frame, which I will paint myself to save money, at this point I'm thinking laser light roofing, might go with a mix of both laser light and colourbond, just not sure at this stage, also colourbond guttering and downpipe installed to storm water drain. The patio area will need to be concreted or deck first I would imagine? what cost do you think I will be looking at????? I have no idea, so a rough idea would be great, will it need a council permit? Job will be at Tarneit Vic, so anyone have any recommendations? Re: rough cost for a Pergola, Melbourne 2Jul 05, 2009 10:09 pm Not sure on price, but have a look at the Wyndham local gov website: I found this: Quote: Pergolas Not more than 3.6 m high, 20m2 in area, and located at the rear of the building to which it is appurtenant. - No permit needed Have a look at this document. http://www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/freestyler/gui/files/Building%20Commission.pdf Adrian B Re: rough cost for a Pergola, Melbourne 3Jul 05, 2009 10:47 pm Thanks for the link Adrian B, I too am interested in building a pergoal in Point Cook soon after the house is finished.
