Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 May 26, 2009 10:04 am Hey All, My first post and I'm sure it won't be my last as we are about 6 weeks from moving into our newly built house, this is when all the fun will begin. I'm in the process of looking into getting a patio cover however I wasn't sure what I should be looking at, everyone seems to have a different opinion. From what I can tell there seems to be 3 categories, lightweight, heat reflective and insulated. Insulated it out of the question price wise, I wasn't sure if we should be looking as spending the extra money for the heat reflective covers (higher thickness /quality too) which nearly seem to be double the price for the area we are covering (36 square metres) over the lightweight covers. The lightweight covers are quite cheap but from the look of things feel cheap too. Would love to hear from someone who has purchased a lightweight cover and if it will serve the purpose over 10+ years or should we go with the higher quality heat reflective cover. Our house is North Brisbane, the storms we have had over the last 6 months also think we shouldn't be skimping on the quality then again what about if my insurance did cover storms on the patio should it matter as much? The quotes range from around $5,500 (lightweight) to $11,500 (heat reflective) Cheers and Thanks Re: Patio Covers - What to choose? 2May 31, 2009 5:18 pm Had this built in 06 when we purchased the house Aluminium Box Chanel Gutters-Beams-Posts and Gloss Colourbond roof 5.5mt X 6.0mt I prewired the lighting as it was being installed All the storms we have had. Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16106 Firstly the ableflex that has been installed needs (manufactures specification) a sealant cap over the top, preventing water draining down between the slab and the… 3 7744 If your patio is going to be 35 sqm then that's going to need Council Approval.
