Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 23, 2007 6:16 pm we want to make a timber deck and a roof. However it is quite expensive. A 3 x 9 deck with the roof was quoted round $15.000 .
Did someone construct a deck and a patiio on his own? How difficult is this and how much time was needed? and are there some sort of kits at least for the roof and maybe for the underconstruction od the deck? There should be a laundy on hte deck as well (something like a cupboard or anytthig simple) Re: decking + patio DYO 2May 24, 2009 7:19 pm If some one sells you a kit form pergola & timber deck i think you will still need to do a fare bit of cutting and fitting and may be quite difficult if your not a carpenter or in the building game. ***edited by Site Admin*** Re: decking + patio DYO 3May 25, 2009 2:46 pm If you do your research you can do these things yourself, just try to read as much as possible 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' A lot more can go wrong with a roof such as it being dislodged during heavy winds and killing your neighbour etc. I know that sounds a bit dramatic but it has happened in the past Re: decking + patio DYO 6May 27, 2009 4:47 pm ![]() Decks are a fairly easy DIY project though I would not recommend a roof structure if you have no building experience. Like not making the structure secure enough etc? We are thinking of building our own pegola with roof later down the track.
