Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 17, 2009 9:09 pm Hi, Install Verandah gave me a quote for $8000 to build a 12mX3m flat attached full colourbond verandah without permit as the consultant said that permit is not needed. What do you think of this quote? The company gets all its materials from Stratco. Re: What do you think of this quotation for a veranda? 2Apr 17, 2009 10:05 pm Sorry I cant help on your question... but I'm wondering if you have gotten a quote from stratco... you can bet your bottom dollar, that company is adding a markup on the product. Cant hurt to ask.. -Sha Re: What do you think of this quotation for a veranda? 3Apr 18, 2009 12:14 pm This is from a recent brochure:- 3m x 3m $1,340 3m x 4m $1,600 3m x 6m $1,990 4m x 6m $2,370 4m x 7m $2,670 5m x 7m $3,090 5m x 8m $3,600 These prices are for the kit only and do not include installation. Hope this provides a rough guide for comparison purposes. Re: What do you think of this quotation for a veranda? 4Apr 18, 2009 10:58 pm I'd be getting a look in at the prices charged to stratco themselves. Any decent patio/pergola builder would be buying from a metal wholesaler surely? One like Midalia steel here in WA. log in as a guest and pick some random store as a location products-patio tube and you should get some prices that inc GST. http://www.midaliasteel.com/index.php Re: What do you think of this quotation for a veranda? 5Apr 20, 2009 4:50 pm I got a quote for a 3 x 3 section and a 10 x 3 section from stratco as a kit . got them down to $3800 attached to the brickwork all colourbond no lazerlight sections. from what i can tell it should take about 5 hours to put up. How enclosed is it, sizes, height, house attachment and a few others can trigger a premit requirement. Adrian B Re: What do you think of this quotation for a veranda? 9Apr 24, 2009 12:42 pm I'm not really sure if InstallVerandah is actually the "installation" department of Stratco or is it an independent entity. But I know that the materials they use come from them. I am getting two more quotes next week so see how it goes. One of them gave me a ~$6500 including permit so you guys are right, Stratco or not, it is quite a markup. Thanks for all your help.
