Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Mar 27, 2009 3:13 pm Hi guys just wanting some feed back from anyone who has attached timber decking to a alfresco ceiling. Mainly what method you used i.e, screws, glue, nails etc and any hidden pit falls you encountered. Cheers Stephen Re: attaching decking to the ceiling 2Mar 27, 2009 6:35 pm you would normally use lining board rather than decking boards, they would look a bit funny I think. Re: attaching decking to the ceiling 4Mar 27, 2009 7:00 pm Ha ha thanks Dukekamaya just googled it and thats the stuff. Looks like it goes together like floating floor boards ? Re: attaching decking to the ceiling 5Mar 27, 2009 7:24 pm lining boards are tongue and grooved yes, the other profile commonly used is called 'shiplap' Re: attaching decking to the ceiling 6Mar 27, 2009 7:35 pm how do install it ? in sections ? and can it be fixed over the top of the existing ceiling ? or maybe you might know of a good website to point me too Cheers Re: attaching decking to the ceiling 7Mar 27, 2009 9:40 pm You would glue and nail it to battens/rafters/ceiling joists etc. It would need to be fixed every 600mm maximum Hi, as per the subject. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best value decking oil (Bunning is close to where I live) for a treated pine deck?
