Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 13, 2022 3:12 pm my concrete contractor is telling me that he can't vibrate the exposed aggregate concrete!!! he's already finished 40m² (4-5m³) of walkways when i noticed that he didn't vibrate it. can someone please confirm if he's right by telling me that exposed aggregate shouldn't get vibrated? as far as i know regardless of the type we have to vibrate concrete to avoid loss of strength. Correct placement and screeding will be adequate. Vibrating exposed agg can makes the stones sink causing irregular exposure so caution is required. You would normally only vibe along vertical faces to prevent honeycombing or on thicker slabs.
