We are about 2 weeks away from handover and just wanted to query what the acceptable condition of the backyard is when they hand the house over? Ours isn't horrible, seems to be a lot of clay and a little rubble. But the height of the backyard is definitely not the natural ground level when the property was handed over to the builder. Its probably 100-200mm higher, which you can see from the heights of the soil against the plinth of the fencing. I believe they have spread the spoil over the rear to try level it out... We had a landscaper over to have a look and they have advised the level is quite high and would cost quite a bit for us to remove due to the time it will take because of smaller access. What are the requirements in the HIA contract? I cant seem to find anything about it being left in the same condition? It's possible but a soak well is usually much larger.
