Hi, all, thinking to build a freestanding pergola similar to these, height is around 2.7m above ground, 6 meters wide, using 4 posts (maybe 5?) on one side !does anyone know what size of the posts should I use? Thinking maybe 150X100mm (10mm thickness )would be strong enough? And what’s the maximum overhang length? Those beams look like around 1.5m wide.. advice please!..

I think you will find you need council approval for that.
In which case you will need structural drawings from an engineer specifying material dimensions and footing size.
