90mmx19mm merbau is around $43 / sq. metre 88mmx23mm Modwood is around $85 / sq. metre If you use a decent decking finish like Sikkens which is about $140 for 5Lt for a hardwood finish such as Cetol HLS then add the time etc. and regular recoating if its not covered ( eg. around a pool) - after a few years the difference is gone.
