Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 02, 2008 1:51 pm Hi all, feeling a little guilty as I love looking at everyone's pics and never post any.
So here goes.... I have some of my kitchen, however it has progressed further, i'e ceasarstone benchtop in Osprey, white rectangle tiled splashback with a stainless steel look rectacngular mosaic line 300mm high along the s/back. But my photos are on my phone & I don't know how to download them So this will do until more pics ALSO - ideas would be great for my vacant corner - I don't have a microwave shelf so that may be the best place to put it! Thanks for posting your splashback, the tiles look like the same size as mine and laid the same way mine will be, good to see what they will look like (ie nice!) .
What colour are your cupboards? Oh, and microwave in vacant corner sounds good to me Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 4Oct 02, 2008 9:15 pm Very nice….. and in the house soon.

I just thought that If you put a microwave cupboard in that space it may be hard to open and get the food out, with that corner cupboard below. We now have a blog. http://allaboutthebuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 6Oct 02, 2008 9:31 pm donuts What colour are your cupboards? Oh, and microwave in vacant corner sounds good to me The cupboards are antique white, the bench is Osprey ceasersstone. I love the tiles - I couldn't lay them in the brick pattern with the mosaic as it would have looked too busy! May have to put the microwave above the power point on the left - but I will have a cord hanging down!!!!!????? Must start packing, Must start packing, Must start packing, Must start packing....... 1st time bldrs, fussy and impatient! Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 8Oct 04, 2008 1:34 pm waterhaven donuts Oh, and microwave in vacant corner sounds good to me May have to put the microwave above the power point on the left - but I will have a cord hanging down!!!!!????? Putting the microwave on the wall is a good idea, but be careful about where exactly you locate it. If you want to put it on the same wall as the window remember that your microwave opens from right to left (left hung door) - this means that you will be opening the door towards yourself which might make accessing the inside of the oven a bit harder. If you are thinking about putting it on the same wall as the oven, bear in mind that you might have to lean sideways a bit to (once again) actually reach into the microwave. Microwaves are best hung no higher than 500mm above a standard height benchtop - any higher and you begin to have saftey issues with lifting potentially very hot items from at or above shoulder height. If this is going to be a permamanant feature I would consider spending the couple of extra dollars and get a dedicated GPO installed above or behind where the micorwave will sit - that cable hanging down will just be an eyesore in your nice new kitchen. I have to say that I am a bit suprised that your kitchen layout does not include a microwave opportunity somewhere, given that almost everyone has one and it is something that is best integrated into a new kitchen at the design stage. I'm trying to compare our timeframe with yours - the painters just finished on Saturday, but the kitchen was in a couple of weeks ago.. I'm trying to compare our timeframe with yours - the painters just finished on Saturday, but the kitchen was in a couple of weeks ago.. Well our house was painted about 3-4 weeks ago & the kitchen 2 weeks ago, then the benchtop last week - our sink, vanities, bath & shower screens are also in. The painters have to come back in and do the architrave around the kitchen window, fix the holes in the walls from the bench & vanity installation, the hole in the roof from the mirror in the bathroom and patch the incorrectly placed light in the hallway. Our downpipes need connecting to the drains as they don't align and of course the mortar touch ups. They are all just little things but whether our SS can get them all in this week (seriously doubt it) But miracles do happen (just not to our house!). So it looks like our SS's do things a bit differently. We are doing our own floors as well CYA 1st time bldrs, fussy and impatient! Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 11Oct 07, 2008 8:24 pm
Cheers, Earl
Yes 3 cheers for Clarendon hip horay:: hip horay hip horay - now we realise how important it is....we will get there...looks like it is on the bench until we figure it out! Thanks for your advice Earl! 1st time bldrs, fussy and impatient! kitchen pictures - updated 9/10/08 12Oct 09, 2008 1:08 pm Hello again,
You may have seen these pictures in the other post (ceasarstone etc) but thought I would update this one, seeing I started it. To our surprise we were given 2 pantry doors instead of 1 (looks great BUT really you will need to prob always have to open both ) but hey, like shoes....as long as it looks good..... practicality goes out the window!!! but yep love them already. Everything was pretty much done internally yesterday, V intercom, ducted vac, tiling around vanities, alarm & sensors so very close, just the down pipes to be connected, elect meter installed, and a few plastering patch ups. Anyway enough rambling! cheers! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 1st time bldrs, fussy and impatient! Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 13Oct 09, 2008 1:14 pm Kitchen looks great!
Congrats on being so close to Handover. It appears that Cl@rendon have no set building schedule! We had our downpipes connected about 2 weeks ago. We still have external painting to do. Gyprock and plaster has been done... so who knows whats next... Good luck packing and packing Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 15Oct 11, 2008 5:06 am hey all ... been on the forum for a while, although i just joined so i could post & share.
our kitchen is finally done. my wife is finally happy. 2 years ago we got our granite countertops & cabinets & we just finished putting in the new applicances & the custom range hood i found (see website link below). i purchased from the Copper page, the copper 3 (6th pic on the page). it is just amazing. i think the wife fell in love with me again when she seen the finished product. i'm not that great with pictures on the computer, but u can look at the range hood & let me know what u'all think. sam Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 16Oct 11, 2008 3:08 pm Looks great!
And wow - just noticed, your kitchen is nearly exactly the same layout as my MIL's!!! Even down to the 2 small doors on the pantry!! Do you have the cabinet to the right of the pantry? My MIL has a cupboard there, then the fridge... and she put's the microwave in that space between the fridge and pantry. Re: Kitchen Pics - updated 02/10/08 17Oct 15, 2008 5:21 pm Hi ESG,
No, to the right of the Pantry is the laundry, then on the other side of the door is the fridge. I went to Howards Storage today as I need a good spice rack to hold all my spices, but there was nothing that could sit on the wire shelves...will have to keep searching. Also has anyone seen the bins there.....$400 mmmm.... how many pairs of shoes is that!!!!! I would prefer an incupboard bin and there was one for about $145. Little bits to consider.....must get in the house first...... 1st time bldrs, fussy and impatient! No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6634 2 4684 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7398 |
