Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 26, 2008 11:17 pm Hi, I have seen many display home in WA and seem like the trend now is 2 pac spray gloss colour for the cupboard. I have ask my builder and this would cost abt $2500 for my kitchen. However if i going for laminex then it will be no cost option.

I am not an expert on the different finishes, personally I would have loved to get the 2 pac finish if we could afford it, I think it looks great and is stronger than laminex, however I have heard that it can get chipped. You also need to consider your total kitchen budget, and what other things you may want to upgrade that might take priority over the cupboards? For example, for me I really wanted stone benchtops, so the money we might have spent on 2pac cupboards is going on this instead. A glass splashback may also be an upgrade you place as a higher priority than 2pac cupboards. We went for a compromise with vinyl wrap cupboards - this has its disadvantages too (it can peel if close to heat) but we love the look, it's not as expensive as 2pac and this is what we are happy with PS - I love that laminex colour too!
