Hi,
We are having a 600mm gas cooktop, would it be an overkill to get a 1200mm rangehood? We do high heat cooking a lot so the idea is to extract all the fume and smell out quickly! We were originally going for the 1000mm rangehood.
Thanks.

Re: Oversized rangehood ok? 2Oct 31, 2019 6:36 pm It will help capture the fumes a bit better, but will start to look a bit odd, not to mention the loss of possible overhead storage. What is far more important is the efficiency of the rangehood itself. Ultimately a huge rangehood with a poor extraction volume won't be as effective as an appropriately sized rangehood with a high extraction rate. The external motor rangehoods are often the most effective. Units like Whispair, Sirus and Schweigan are very effective, or look for some of the better quality inbuilt motor versions.
