"Highly Moisture Resistant (HMR) board" is required for cabinetry in kitchen
It is HMR board in the carcass and MR MDF for the doors and panels. The materials used are fine.
It's the quality of installation that is lacking.
And it looks like it from the pictures.
HMR board actually costs me less to buy than standard PB because of the volume that it is made and used in the kitchen industry. It's the default board.

Yes I had a closer look and you’re right thank you. Also do you think these defects can be “touched up”? which is what the kitchen company owner has proposed to do?

No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s
