We're currently in the building process and we fell in love with some Navy Blue kitchens we seen. When we went to the kitchen company, we loved the new range of Laminex "AbsoluteMatte" in french navy LINK. This is fingerprint-less product. Once we fell in love with it, we were told later that they are not doing this in Board, just the laminate (The sales lady didn't know this, as some other AbsoluteMatte is available in the board). So we can't use this for cupboard doors etc. I am told by Laminex that there are "No Plans" for this being available in the board in the near future.
We still want this colour scheme, so we have the options of
- 2pac French Navy - We're told this can chip easily and once it's chipped it doesn't look very glamorous. This is also more expensive. ($1600 more then AbsoluteMatte, and $2700 more than the Natural finish)
- Laminex Natural finish french navy - This isn't fingerprint-less. Even the samples we looked at you could see the fingerprints as soon as you touched them. Such a dark colour makes fingerprints much easier to see.
- The same French Navy AbsoluteMatte mounted on board - This sounds extremely expensive.
Does anyone know of a similar product that maybe close to the colour we're after? Much prefer the fingerprint resistant finish, otherwise we could just do the natural finish. There is a Polytec one but its so dark it's almost black.
Anyone have experience with how easy the 2pac finishes are to chip?
Thanks for any assistance
