I wouldn't if they attach to the front of the door. I've always recommended these to people https://www.bunnings.com.au/perma-child ... k_p4211349
They attach to back of door and use a magnetic 'key' to open. Magnetic de activates the lock and once door is closed, automatically locks back up.

nay - we've never had locks on our cupboards in the kitchen, laundry, bathroom, and have twins. we established boundaries for them when they were babies, and have never had an issue with them in places they shouldn't be.
give them access to cupboards with stuff in them that can't hurt them, and educate them that they shouldn't be in the other cupboards...
