Waterfall Edges on Island - Yay or Nay?

We are trying to decide from a cost point of view whether to keep the waterfall edges on our kitchen island or not. It is an extra $1300 to have them, so not cheap. But are they worthwhile or is it just for aesthetics? We did hear something about the dishwasher being better off with waterfall edges???

I dont know that the waterfall adds any functionality, but aesthetically my wife and I thought it was worth it. I guess it is a matter of preference. We also upgraded to 40mm Caesar stone from 20mm in the kitchen.

We also figured that spending money up front on things that were difficult to do ourselves after handover was a good use of funds. If you really want a Caesar stone waterfall look, it would be even more expensive to do it later. That said, it is definitely something that can be lived without

Definitely just a matter of preference.

It also depends on the style of the home. I feel it’s more suited to really modern looking homes.

I’d be looking at kitchens on Pinterest and seeing what you prefer and go with that.

Waterfalls have absolutely no benefit on dishwashers at all.

BUT, I think they look amazing on an island unit.

The stone tops would have to be manufactured with a waterfall at a later date in mind. If they are not adding a waterfall after would be almost impossible.

I love the look of waterfall edges. It’s completely personal preference. I second checking out Pinterest and see which kitchen appeal to you.

We're having a waterfall on one end and a cantilever on the other, 20mm which is a more modern look.
