Is this island bench location weird? Due to having to mirror half the house we have ended up with the island visible from front door and hallway.

(Not visible from front door) I am trying to gage how much of a visual disturbance it really is. What peoples thoughts are and whether it would put off future buyers. Note: front door is located to the right of the floor plan. Re: Island bench location 5Jun 04, 2017 9:41 pm Can you upload another pic showing the front door? - View my blog at www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: Island bench location 6Jul 16, 2017 9:26 pm seeing it as you step in would totally put me off - to me that is a private part of the house... I'd never buy it like that. Just my opinion. Re: Island bench location 7Jul 20, 2017 10:58 am Could you put in a nice double cavity slider at end of hallway/the entrance to the open plan area that would give you the flexibility to block it off when the doorbell rang? Better efficiency for heating too, so an added benefit Re: Island bench location 8Aug 04, 2017 4:02 pm Is there any chance you could just swap the Family and Kitchen/Pantry/Laundry? You could rotate the kitchen 90 degrees so it faces the outside alfresco(?) or wraps around with an L shape bench under a servery window and an inside bench opposite where the island is in the above layout, and put the laundry and pantry against the left outside wall. Second Time 'Round ask the surveyor for clarification would be the logical approach 1 20141 |
