If it were my choice I would flip the kitchen to the Dining spot next to the store and making a large store/pantry. So that the kitchen overlooked the dining and family areas. Out of the two options you have I like B best. Re: Kitchen layout 3May 16, 2017 10:54 pm Thanks for your reply. That is an awesome idea! In my dream house i always wanted a cafe/bistro window over the sink into the entertaining area. I had a play around with the plans, as we also need to a shower in the powder room https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/53/bf/83/53bf83ba5c6d9525c90f881382d9a5fd.jpg Re: Kitchen layout 5May 24, 2017 1:29 pm Hi RhondaMC! I also had the option of an outdoor bistro/lanai in my build, however in my opinion, having a Lanai is only useful when the weather is great, I would honestly rather be indoor if the temps reach 40+ in summer or 10 degrees in winter. Your option C gets rid of the nice bar length that you get with option A and B, which leaves you without a bar when said temps are at hand. With option D, you get the Lanai, and the bar. The bar is a little smaller but can still seat up to 3. The shower fits well but the toilet will need to go where the basin is, and you’ll need to use a hand basin to make it work. Hope this helps! It just makes sense to have good ventilation if you're going to be dealing with a lot of scents and flavours in my opinion! Also, not sure if this is just the drawing, but it looks like there is a lot more space for storage in the 3rd (C) layout too. That could definitely help with getting your home organized! But you should think hard on how often you'll be using the kitchen - that will definite how much working countertop space you really require! You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 8280 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation.
