Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 09, 2008 10:32 pm I am in shock at the cost of trades for installing my small kitchen and I would like to know whether you think the following are realistic:
Electrician $1,200 to disconnect and reconnect circuit board (hosted in existing cupboard), add safety switch to circuit board, relocate oven (ie run cable across room) 2 new electrical sockets and removing 2. Plumber is $1000 to disconnect and reconnect water and hot water cylinder (under sink), move taps from wall to under counter for mixer tap. What is the standard rates for such a job. Thanks Trish Re: COST of Trades? 2Aug 10, 2008 6:19 am Shop around Trish, an electrician in WA quoted me $150 for each powerpoint on external wall and another for the same $110 so it is $40 difference if one has 5 of these there is $200 saving. The same with moving the water services, one quoted $760 another $500. I do not know why this difference, just make sure they are registered.
