Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 14, 2016 6:51 pm Does anyone have an AEG oven and, if so, are you happy with it? Or does anyone know anything about them? I'm looking at the steam/pyro AEG oven. thanks Re: AEG ovens 2Oct 17, 2016 2:35 pm I was talking the head sales person at HN last week and they were saying how wonderful the AEG oven was - cooks evenly, largest 600mm for useable space. I was very interested until I went home and did a google search and had lots of bad reviews for cooking roasts etc. Do a google search for the model number. I've now been put off it and looking at Ariston and putting two in. Re: AEG ovens 3Oct 17, 2016 2:39 pm I have also read some bad reviews but they were for an older model. i know AEG from living in the UK and they are a good brand - about same as Bosch, I guess. I just don't know them here....... I'm still thinking of using them.... will google some more! Re: AEG ovens 5Oct 18, 2016 1:51 pm I've chosen the 60cm 10 function MaxiKlasse... it has steam and pyro. Plus I'm getting the 45cm oven as well.... half price at the moment. For the same set up in Neff or Miele I'm looking at a lot more, and I still think aeg will look good (and function well)! AEG ovens 6Oct 20, 2016 11:18 am AEG is now owned by Electrolux and although the quality is not bad it's not as good as it used to be. And their prices in Australia are very inflated (I remember googling an AEG model in some UK websites they were about £1000 over there while they sell it here for $5000). But if you can get them at some good prices then it's probably not a bad deal. Also since its now made by Electrolux you might find some AEG models look almost identical to other Electrolux-owned brands. I saw one of the AEG combi steam ovens and the Ikea combi steam oven (made by Electrolux) in person, apart from their designs the insides look almost identical and so are the functions. I then looked up both instruction manuals online and they have pretty much the same functions and features. Ikea one says it's made in Poland while the AEG in EU or EC (can't remember exactly what it says but it's definitely not in Germany. I know some AEG ovens are made in Germany though): http://m.aegaustralia.com.au/Products/C ... S8404001M/ http://m.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/art/30322042/ When I wanted to replace my old smeg oven recently with a full size combi steam oven I looked at a few options like AEG, vzug, Neff and Miele. I picked the Miele at the end because it's stainless steel inside while the other full size combi steam ovens I looked at are enamel. Re: AEG ovens 7Oct 22, 2016 4:51 pm helenn82 Likewise. If I only get one oven it is still on top of my list due to the amount of useable space inside. The AEG I am considering is the maxiKlasse 9 function pyroluxe. I went for it ordered the AEG. In the end it came down to cost...I wanted two ovens and AEG gave me the most for my money and I needed to cut some costs somewhere.... I don't think you'll regret it Re: AEG ovens 9Oct 25, 2016 1:21 pm Magcargo Purchased this oven a few months ago and am experiencing the "hot steam in the face" too What a shocker! I'm still trying to get used to it and remember to stand back as it almost burns, not to mention the swish of fatty steam covering my new ceiling and walls. Also had trouble browning roast veg... will persevere and try a thermometer in the oven. Not very happy with the response from their support either. After reading these reviews, I assume they must know of the problem and simply imply it's normal. From what I have read they have been the negative reviews. I think they are aware but in the end scheme of things the size and everyday baking results outweigh those things. That is why I'm still contemplating it even though there are a couple of negatives. I'm not sure you would actually find the 'perfect' oven. |
