Hi,
We have just taken possession of a new build and there is a chip out of the side of the waterfall edge in the kitchen and a big chip out of the top of one of the bathroom vanities.
After talking to the kitchen company today they seemed to be suggesting that the normal procedure is for the stonemasons to come out and patch the chips.
I am trying to work out if this is acceptable (to be honest i don't think it is - but we have had so much go wrong with our build that i don't know if i am being unreasonable in expecting it to be replaced). I am also concerned that as it is on an edge that it will be a weakness that we could knock at a later date and cause a problem again that we would then be responsible for.
We paid an awful lot to get Alpine Mist installed as a 40mm island with 2 waterfall edges as well the other bench tops in the kitchen and BP. And also paid extra to get organic white in the bathrooms.
Should we dig our heels in or is patch the stone the accepted mode of fix - if i had stuffed them myself i would probably patch but i didn't pay for patched stone!!!!
thanks
Lou
