Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 23, 2016 1:00 pm I am considering upgrading my bench width from 900mm to 1200mm We have Ceaserstone standard range included in our build. (Waterfall edges) Can anyone give me an estimated figure of how much I can expect the builder to charge us. The bench length is 3 mts Thanks in advance Re: Cost to upgrade 5Jun 25, 2016 10:33 am It varies greatly from builder to builder. Some allow you to work directly with the individual trades for upgrades while others put massive mark ups on extras. Unfortunatly you question is quite hard to answer. Can't remember exact length but it's around 2.5m I think. There isn't really any extra labour for a wider top its just the cost of the stone. $2700 for a 400mm width upgrade has a big builders margin on it. I also checked the length and it's 2.7m Customised Burbank Indigo/Hawthorn in Officer VIC https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.p ... 2#p1680752 Re: Cost to upgrade 12Jun 29, 2016 7:19 am Joker Can also be that a extra slab is needed, so little more can mean that there was not enough stone with new requirements. Sometimes. I have seen an 1100 wide top cost silly amounts of money to go to 1300mm with no additional stone required. Spec builders love making heaps of money on small upgrades unfortunately.
