Can a normal dishwasher be used in outdoor kitchen
Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: Dishwasher 2May 21, 2016 2:44 pm I guess it depends on how much weather it will see. I have a fully integrated neff dishwasher that is in my alfresco. It won't see any weather because of where it is positioned. I also had a stainless steel shroud built for it for added protection. Re: Dishwasher 3May 21, 2016 4:33 pm There are outdoor kitchens and then there are OUTDOOR kitchens! Will your outdoor kitchen get any rain on water on it? Having said that, there is more humidity outside and that will affect any items more than if they were installed inside, so don't expect quite the life span. Dishwashers are designed to handle humid and caustic environments though, so typically it's all good. I've installed plenty of dishwashers in outdoor kitchens that are fully undercover and never had any issues. Fully integrated dishwashers are always a good option. Personally I like to build my alfresco kitchens as alfresco kitchens not just internal kitchens installed outside, meaning PVC board for carcass and one of the waterproof options for panels, it costs more but I can guarantee that it will last with absolutely no issues. Realistically, most guys install standard kitchens in alfrescos and as long as they use good quality MR board it's all fine. My alfresco is all stainless steel and because the integrated dishwasher has no cover as it's meant to be built in the guy I used mad a cover for it so it can be pushed inside its spot. Re: Dishwasher 7May 22, 2016 2:43 pm If its undercover and wont get direct rain then it will be fine.
