Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 30, 2008 1:58 pm I've just selected a few colours for our benches. I'd like to keep the look fairly light and airy. (We have a Queensland post-war home with wooden floors and the kitchen will open out onto the lounge/dining area) Anyone with any taste have an opinion on the following selections?
Formica - Umbrian Granite Velour finish for the benches (The alternative I like the look of is the Formica Tuscan Granite velour finish but I think this might give the kitchen a 'cold' feeling. I am really after a light, bright warm feeling that will open up a rather small house.) Wilsonart - Designer white D354 #90 Crystal (I think this is a bench top colour but I will match it for the doors if this is the case). For the doors/drawers Amerind - Brushed aluminium for the kickers The rest of the interior of the house is currently painted a creamy/yellowish colour that I can't wait to lighten but that will be another year or two away. Also, looking at doing the 5mm x 5mm square edge to keep the look as modern as I can using laminate. Any ideas for door handles? Brushed aluminium or shiny? Square or curved? What will give a nice clean line without looking too minimalist and cold? Is there anything I need to check with the kitchen designer about the thickness of the benches or how the laminate will go together? Hi Paddy05, We are getting Designer white kitchen cabinets with Brushed Nickel door handles. We wanted a white kitchen and designer white was the whitest cabinets we could get.. Our kicker is Satin Stainless. Sorry won't be of much help with the benchtop as we are having ceasarstone benchtop so not sure how the Designer White laminate will look as a benchtop and how easy it is to keep it clean as it is very white. No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6632 2 4681 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7394 |
