Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 May 01, 2016 10:18 am Hi....any opinions on Polytec timber look kitchen cabinet doors? I've looked at samples and can't decide if they look too fake. Wondering what others think....have looked at the Natural Oak colour. Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 2May 01, 2016 12:06 pm I think it looks good in the right kitchen/home. Really depends on the look your after Cutting Edge Kitchens and Cabinet Making http://cuttingedgekitchens.net.au http://www.facebook.com/pages/Cutting-Edge-Kitchens/290484196676 Mobile : 0419 430 575 PH: 9452 4772 Fax :9452 4772 cuttingedgekitchens@outlook.com Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 3May 01, 2016 3:56 pm I've done a number of kitchens in it and they looked good. It's got a more up-market look and feel over standard timber look melamine. The last one I did was in the Laminex riven Oak and it came up a treat. Added extra to the budget just so I can have it. I think it looks nice in minimal amounts, so I am just having above the hob cabinets in it and the rest white gloss. Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 7May 04, 2016 12:49 pm I did the front of my island and some overhead cupboards in it. I think it turned out pretty well - and certainly better than a normal laminate with no grain. http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff371/travispegg/MA2/Kitchen4_zpsnrr9pzrc.jpg http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff371/travispegg/MA2/Kitchen%20amp%20Dining1_zpsy4tnvshm.jpg http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff371/travispegg/MA2/Living%20Room1_zpsahnpysu1.jpg Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 8May 04, 2016 8:29 pm travisaus I did the front of my island and some overhead cupboards in it. Which flooring did you go for and was this the polytec ravine timber look units? I worried I wouldn't find a floor to match! Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 9May 06, 2016 9:13 am Travisau....I also love your kitchen and floor so I also would like to know more detail for the floor and units (see above poster's question). Can you also tell me what worktop colour and type you used? And whether you're happy with the choice? I was originally going for snow (white) but think it's too white (hard to keep looking clean). Thanks! Thanks! Thanks. Floors are American Oak in 190mm wide boards and finished in a commercial satin. They are softer than some of the aussie hardwoods however the look is fantastic. The island is caesarstone in organic white. I like it, but if I could choose again I would change to something like the EssaStone Verona Mist (or something with a bit more grey through it). Yes - the timber look is Polytec ravine finish in natural oak. Which flooring did you go for and was this the polytec ravine timber look units? I worried I wouldn't find a floor to match! I just got a large sample of the polytec natural oak in the mail today and i put it down on my Parador Trendtime 6 Oak Castell limed laminate flooring and you can't tell the difference.. They match that well.. So thats another option you can look at Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 12May 27, 2016 6:55 pm Hi guys Is this floor the engeneered timber oak or is it te full oak planks Thanks Re: Polytec Ravine...timber look 14Aug 13, 2016 12:06 pm travisaus I did the front of my island and some overhead cupboards in it. I am using the ravine oak as open shelving in my kitchen and benchtop/broom cupboard in laundry. Can't wait to see how it turns out. But for the flooring I'm wanting to use vinyl planks and finding a colour similar has been difficult, also going to run the flooring up the back of the island. The closest pick so far I have found is Carpet Court's Provincial Lane Summer Oak which is a little darker but with similar tones. if anyone finds anything else in vinyl which is similar let me know!! CollectionProvincial Lane VIf anyone finds something eles Also if anyone is interested, I also got one of the bathroom vanities in Ravine Natural Oak from Tradelink to tie it in alltogether which was a bit cheaper than going a totally custom vanity. What colour is your grey polytec part of your ktichen? Interested in getting either the Polytec Boston Oak or Palace Peak for kitchen cabinets. Looking at the Boston Oak ones, it appears that the colour varies significantly… 0 9219 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15935 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11599 |
