Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 09, 2016 2:16 pm Hi all We're renovating a condo for resale. The condo is in an older 70s built building so nice large and bright rooms. Only issue is kitchen was an interior room with a doorway entrance closing it off. I hired a contractor to tear down the wall so it flows into the dining room. The flooring will be the exact same so smooth consistent floor without transition points. My question is it's a galley type kitchen and I would like to move the fridge from one wall to the newly opened area which is also the dining room. There is now no separation between the two anyway and it's a rather large dining room. What are your thoughts on having the pantry and fridge exposed on the one side and since the other side opens up to the living room the cabinets end at the intersection with the wall. The room layout looks like an L shape where the top part of the L is the kitchen and the lower part is dinning and living. Pic of the demolishing for idea. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters.
