The water seems dangerously close the power but I'm no expert. http://i881.photobucket.com/albums/ac17/jajig/WP_20151215_001_1.jpg Do you intend turning off and on as you use it ? Water I mean. I had a tap right at the front of the cupboard. Was VERY useful. AND - didn't get in the way. BUT - if connected properly shouldn't be a worry. Re: Dishwasher water and power 4Dec 15, 2015 1:48 pm Yep that is normal. However I prefer the power higher than the water. That could be dangerous even with a small leak. I thought there might have been a regulation about distance of power points to water sources but I assume that would only be for open sinks or basins since this is standard practise. Cheers. Re: Dishwasher water and power 6Dec 15, 2015 2:17 pm It may be standard practise but its not good standard practise. I always make my electrician put the power above the water. Power above water is always the wisest option. Just like CEK, that's how my sparky and plumber install them. The way its done here is pretty standard though. Just from a plumbers point of view Re: Dishwasher water and power 10Dec 15, 2015 7:59 pm It's the floor of the carcass, not the shelf. It's probably an island bench. The water has to run up the inside of the cupboard unless there is a void to use. This picture should help a bit: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The dishwasher is away from the sink and needs to run the piping under the blind cabinet. I'd prefer to have the power away from water and you can see the points in the top of the cabinet that I had originally planned to use for the dishwasher. The electrician said there needed to be a point closer to the dishwasher to avoid running the cables too far through the cabinet and that is why there is one at the bottom there. I've never renovated before and have no experience in these matters so I'm not going to tell qualified and experienced trades people how to do their jobs. But I really do wish the water wasn't lined up to flow directly into a power point. In the end I guess it doesn't really matter the power cables are on the floor where all the water would drain to anyway. Good thing I had safety switches installed. I am installing a new Bosch SMU4HTS01A built under dushwasher. I have 2 questions. What is the function of the metal strip about 500mm long x 60mm wide the tell you to… 0 2696 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors. Thanks 1 13274 2 15443 |
