Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 14, 2015 11:36 am Wondering if anyone knows if you can cut drainage grooves into a stone top after construction and installation? Ive been quoted 878 dollars for both sides of an undermounted sink to have grooves cut. Half the cost if for one side. As its an investment property and 'maybe' livinf im thinking i shouldnt splurge the money. But ive always had an on the counter sink with stainless steel drainage board so if i can cut the stone after if i ever.move in that would be a good option. If i never move in i never cut it and save the money. Has anyone alternatively opted out of the double undermounthed sink option in favour of an on the counter sitting stainless steel sink with drainage board? Builder will only do that if i want a drainer, the undermounted sink they cant do with a drainer. We do use thosr temp racks and tray you put to the side that drain but obviously are bulkier and not so pretty Re: Essastone - drainage grooves 3Oct 15, 2015 11:43 am Zanadar You just said you have a quote so obviously it is possible? NO its not! The quote would be to do it in the factory prior to bringing it out! Its done on a large CNC machine! A little less practical as you can't then use that bowl to wash while dishes are draining but a good compromise. Custom knockdown rebuild Newcastle NSW viewtopic.php?t=78271 I'm building a new house.
