I am going back and forward over the kitchen layout; whether to join the island to the bench and create a U-shaped kitchen or leave the island as is, which I feel is a bit small. The walkway either side of the island is only 1000mm, so not a huge walkway that I could extend the bench into easily (my first thought). The island is 1800mm wide by 1100mm deep. Ideally I would like to fit 4 stools at the overhang. That way if you're working in one area and someone wants to get by you, it's not an issue. Also, the island looks to be a decent size. You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn.
