Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Sep 22, 2015 4:13 pm I'm trying to choose a rangehood at the moment and I'm just not sure which way to go. It will just be a stainless steel canopy type rangehood I think. I'm looking at the Qasair, Schweigen, Sirius or Siemens (to match my appliances). I'ld like powerful and quiet! (not sure if this is too much of an ask!). And I've also read about some issues with condensation and induction which I would like to avoid. I like the look of the Siemens and I like the idea of it matching my appliances but it doesn't sound particularly powerful compared to the others. The Qasair has a couple of models that they recommend for induction cooktops but they appear to be undermount ones only. The Qasair and I think the Schweigen can have their motors mounted outside on the roof however some reviews I've read say depending on how the ducting is done they can still be noisy. Love to know what you have gone with and whether you are happy. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76666 our custom build on 25 acres Re: Which rangehood for induction?? Qasair, Schweigen, Siri 2Sep 27, 2015 1:51 am I asked about the condensation issue- guy told me you just turn on the range good 5 minutes before using the Cooktop and said that it Really isn't a big problem. Don't know whether I believe him. The other issue is those under mount rangehood a won't cover the front burners so just keep that in mind ( I am also going under mount as I prefer the look). I read schweigen can be loud outside and it apparently needs the motor installed a fair distance away from the rangehood. That would put mind alongside my neighbours alfresco , and if the motor Is loud.... Qasair, Schweigen, Siri 3Oct 06, 2015 8:28 pm I too would like to find out peoples experiences with range hoods. I've been looking at the Schweigen also but have read conflicting opinions on how quiet they are. Any info would be appreciated, thanks Loving our new home, Upper Hunter NSW on 2.5 acres Re: Which rangehood for induction?? Qasair, Schweigen, Siri 4Oct 06, 2015 9:10 pm I have a Siemens induction cooktop (900mm) with a Smeg undermount rangehood. You can't see the 'branding' on the rangehood unless you look underneath. I didn't want the 'branding' on the front of the rangehood because it wouldn't match the other appliances. I opted not to get the rangehoods listed in your title because I did not want to spend a lot of money on the rangehood. The money I would have spent on the rangehood brands you listed, instead went towards the other appliances It isn't 'quiet' however I have rarely used it on the 2nd & 3rd fan speed settings. I find the 1st fan speed sufficient. I was also told to turn on the rangehood 5 mins before I start cooking however I usually forget and I haven't experienced any condensation. Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6354 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7584 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7304 |
