We were a little shocked to be charged $1000 for a very small amount of wall cabinet with Formica doors in our kitchen. We haven't said yay or nay yet... is that a decent price? Is that what it will cost if we were to get it done ourselves after handover? The area is about 1.7m in length. Thank you! Building our first home - how scary!!! Re: Wall cabinets 3Jul 09, 2008 2:29 pm There are a few variables that will affect this price, including number of carcasses, finished height, specific colour, handles et cetera.
But as a rough guide: Assuming that the units finish against one wall with the other end exposed, 600mm splash back and a finished height of 2105mm: 3 Wall Units 600 H x 556 W 1 Infill 1 End Panel 6 Blum 107 Hinges 3 Handles Assembly Hardware Delivery and Installation Could start at around $700 - but you will have to find someone willing to take on such a small job and they might mark it up a bit more than me to get a minimum job fee. I based my justification on pricing on what would it cost to buy something off the shop floor that wouldn’t be a perfect fit, and also wouldn’t match with any other units in the vicinity. After your answers here, and some more research, their price seems to be quite fair for what we want, and for the fact that it will be done and dusted for handover. Building our first home - how scary!!! You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want.
