I have just spent hours looking at the absolutely beautiful kitchens on the other thread and wished I had found this site before I made my colour choices for my new kitchen.
I am renovating a galley style kitchen and laundry to allow for wheelchair access to the back verandah. So as part of this I have rethought the kitchen design and thought I would add a bank of cupboards above the cooktop and sink. Now I know that the cupboard height has to be at least 600mm above an electric cooktop and above 700 for a gas one. So I am wondering if they would get in the way of anyone working at the sink. Won't bother me because I am a shortie, but I would like to hear other people's thoughts or experiences.
The cabinet maker said he thought if they are there they should only be 200ml deep, but then they will step back from the 300mm range hood cabinet. There will already be a step on that side as the laundry cabinet has to be 700mm deep to fit the appliances in it so I am just not sure how all these depth changes will look. I have seen quite a few photos of cupboards above cooktops but not as many over sinks so I am starting to dither a bit.
Any thoughts??
