I am currently going through a renovation and am trying to decide on a splashback colour.
I really like the idea of black glass but I have heard it is horrible to keep clean and people have regretted. Does anyone have any feedback for me?

I have a black glass splashback (you can see photos in my thread 'kitchen reno' a bit further down) and I love it. I was considering a red one, but thought it might date, so when I saw a black one in a kitchen display centre I was sold. The only time it's a problem is for a short time in the morning when the sun shines on it directly and it highlights any spots I may have missed. The rest of the time, you can't see them! Usually, I just wipe it over with a micro fibre cloth and Windex. If it has been spattered with oil behind the cook top I will wipe it first with warm soapy water or, occasionally, Nifti. Some times you can see dust on it, but a quick wipe with a dusting cloth fixes that. FWIW, I have a friend with a mocha coloured splash back and she complains that it shows everything all the time. Don't know about other colours. Hope this helps.

Its no different to wearing black clothes or owning a black car it just shows the dust up a bit more but glass is simple and easy to clean. Just a spray of metho n water n its spotless in seconds
