Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jun 27, 2008 11:26 am Hey guys,
Question....we currently have a whole white kitchen, and white kickboards too...finacee has got it in his head that he wants "silver" kickboards now...i think this is the stainless look that i've read on other posts... So, does anyone know the actual name/colour of this silver? anyone who built with PD that is getting silver kickboards? all this work for kickboards...should really kick finacee..hhahahaha Re: kickboard colour... 3Jun 27, 2008 11:56 am Hi, we're not building with PD but are also having a white kitchen with the silver kickboards - I think it's called "brushed aluminium"!
..... and you leave your finacee alone - us guys gotta stick together, lol 'We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.' - Winston Churchill Re: kickboard colour... 4Jun 27, 2008 11:57 am Hi there,
we are building with Henley but I'm sure the kickboard colours are probably the same as PD. The stainless steel kickboard we have is called Zincworks. We have also gone for the all white kitchen (polar wite) with the stainless steel kickboard. We have just had everything installed & it looks really nice & bright. I'll try to get a decent photo of it for you. cheers, Trina http://carinyawest.blogspot.com/ Re: kickboard colour... 5Jun 27, 2008 11:57 am Hi Newbies,
My colour consultant at Cosham (H3nl3y) suggested Laminex 'zincworks' for a kicker to match the stainless steel. It is a very modern look, too modern for my kitchen, but it would look lovely! EDIT: Beat me to it Trina!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! Re: kickboard colour... 9Jun 27, 2008 12:08 pm Hey Newbies, Hopetoun told me it was "zincworks" like other's have posted. Guess what? Mine are going to be white.......white cupboards and white kickplates.......I tossed and turned over this for days and ended up going with white.....I still wonder whether or not I should have gone with the black Happy at Home Re: kickboard colour... 10Jun 27, 2008 12:15 pm tahnks Toni!

Re: kickboard colour... 11Jun 27, 2008 12:18 pm Newbies,
I think it's lovely he's so interested in the house. Many of the partners of forumites aren't. It'd be lovely to have someone interested enough to help me..... It'd be lovely to have fiancee..... Shouldn't have logged on...... Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I think I may have enough silver with my 900mm oven and large handles! I've just pm'd Trina to see if she has any close up of the zincworks in her kitchen.
Regarding the back of the Island.........ours it white!!!! Yep all white!!!! We don't wear shoes in our house so I won't have a problem with my kids I'm hoping that guests who come over won't rest their shoes up on it! Adults should know better, kids can eat outside Honestly though I thought about having the back of the island a colour to match my splash back but couldn't decide and then worried about it looking funny although it probably wouldn't have......end the end I kept it white. I really want my splashback and QQ waterfall to be the feature in the kitchen. Oh I am sooooooo over my kitchen. Happy at Home Re: kickboard colour... 13Jun 27, 2008 12:26 pm hahhahaha i know! i;m over it toooo >.<
yea, we dont wear shows in the house now, and i think we will need to enforce the rule to guests too....hehe i think i will leave it white (the front bench thingy) and have the aluminium kickboards like fiancee wants...have to give him something! hahaha hehe i wanted our splashback to be the feature too...but i couldnt decided on a colour, so i've changed it to white heheh i think i will need a nice fruit bowl to colour it up! hahahahahahahahaha Re: kickboard colour... 15Jun 27, 2008 12:32 pm Newbies hahhahaha i know! i;m over it toooo >.<yea, we dont wear shows in the house now, and i think we will need to enforce the rule to guests too....hehe i think i will leave it white (the front bench thingy) and have the aluminium kickboards like fiancee wants...have to give him something! hahaha hehe i wanted our splashback to be the feature too...but i couldnt decided on a colour, so i've changed it to white heheh i think i will need a nice fruit bowl to colour it up! hahahahahahahahaha You can have some lovely "colour things" in your kitchen, beautiful! about fiance, all my husband wanted was a separate toilet in the ensuite and the contemporary garage door! He is so easily pleased Most people that come over to our house take off their shoes, I suppose they see the 15 million pairs at our front door and follow suit (oh I can't wait for the under stair storage to put the shoe racks!) People that don't then I ask if they don't mind to remove.......... Happy at Home Re: kickboard colour... 17Jun 27, 2008 1:19 pm Thanks for the topic Newbies....needed an aluminium/stainless steel look laminate for a mod I need to do on the kitchen....I now have a wealth of choices....ta!
PS....things work much better when both parties are interested in the design/interior decoration, I'd be lost without out DW's counsel. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: kickboard colour... 19Jun 27, 2008 3:43 pm Newbies tahnks Toni! i was actually thinking about u...i found this pic...i dont know how to post yet so here is the link http://www.thewardrobecompany.com.au/beacons.htm its 40mm ice waterfall edge...thought u mite want to see it...
