Got the quote for my undermounted sink, $1015. Really, the sink would probably have to be the most hard working "appliances" in the kitchen. It deals with a lot, every single day. This is the angle I will be taking anyway with my husband to sell the pricetag to him Sandra Re: Sink Selection - should I consider ease of replacement 6Apr 28, 2015 9:44 am Thanks everyone for your replies. Feel a bit more confident now. I can't imagine we will redo the kitchen again, probably ever so hopefully the sink goes the distance with the new kitchen. My logic for convincing husband he needs to re-do a 7 year old kitchen is flawed, but somehow I managed to wear him down. We changed the layout a bit temporarily to see if we liked it and we do (wish we had used it from the start), so now of course we have to re-do the whole thing (we really don't) but the change in layout has meant we will have a deeper island bench - so going stone was the logical option... Dropped in to masters today to check out the sinks. Spoke to one of the guys in their kitchen department who told me he is a cabinet maker by trade and also worked as a stone/marble bench installer too. Apparently the masters range of Principal sinks are actually supplied by Hafele, which makes me feel a lot better about buying one. And yep - have thought about how much water (we are on rain water so definitely a consideration). We have a dishwasher though so for the most part this will be used mostly for odd washing up of pots/oven trays and bench cleaning etc. Plan on getting a couple of smaller ikea container thingers that I can use to do small washing up with inside the sink where necessary.
