I have a Bosch pull out and minimum distance is 430mm for electric and 650mm for gas. But look at other brands and indeed other Bosch models and the distance varies but gas is further in all cases and under Australian standards is measured from the top of the burner not the actual hob. With gas and splashbacks, distance is and isn't an issue. With gas the splashback and any adjacent cupboards needs to be fire rated OR a minimum of 200mm away. Especially important if you have a glass or stainless steel splashbacks, because the splashback (for glass) needs to be specifically rated and the wall behind needs to meet specific requirements, 6mm fibre foard or 10mm gyproc.. Whereas with tiles, they mostly form the appropriate barrier due to their thickness and material. Hi everyone!
