Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 06, 2015 1:48 pm I am hoping someone can help me! I am in the middle of building my house and have been having troubles with my kitchen bench. The bench top goes around a corner and my cabinet maker said if I choose laminex I will either have to decide between having the rolled edge which will have 2 big join marks on the top of the bench or have no join on the bench top but have a black line on the edge. I really don't like either because it will make it look cheap! I can't afford stone as that will set me back at least $6,000. It's a wood frame home so my builder said I can change the kitchen anyway I like, add a wall move the bench etc. it's the Tunisian stone diamond gloss I have chosen but the cabinet guy will not use their edging as he wont guarantee it being water proof. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to have the laminex benches without the black edge? I have looked at poly stone but they didn't realy have a colour that I liked. They were pretty limited. Are there any other cheaper stone or marble options? Of I could work out how to post a pic I would sorry! But this is from the builders website with a sort of similar kitchen layout http://www.totalhomeframes.com.au/image ... lan-lg.jpg Re: Desperate for suggestions for edging on benchtop 2Apr 06, 2015 5:07 pm Hi jessg - how deep is your bench going to be? If 60cm then have you considered the solid wood worktops from Ikea? They're very reasonably priced. Lovely plan you have with all the verandas Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them… 2 12912 Hi, Looking to add an ensuite to one of the bedrooms and make it a Master BR. Please see the attached current floorplan.
