The builder might allow this, but whoever installs the benchtop, would probally have to cut in the sink and hotplates as well My lovely builder is letting me do this. His cabinet maker is doing the templates (like cardboard cutouts of the benchtops with the right size holes for sink and hotplate), then I take the templates to my stone mason who makes the benches, then comes on site to install it. Sounds all good in theory, hopefully it'll go smoothly in practice!
