Our kitchen designer thinks that square edge are better.... less likely to chip/dirty the thinner edge of the sharknose. Thanks in advance! Re: Handle-less kitchen drawers - square edge or shark nose? 3Feb 23, 2015 3:54 pm MR1600 hi mycl, when you say square edge are you referring to the process of using an aluminium profile rebated into the cabinetry so you can maintain the square edge I am guessing so. Its really a personal preference. If the sharknose is done correctly it shouldn't be an issue. Square edge is quicker and easier for the cabinet maker to do. Over time moisture will affect the paint finish and it will crack down in the curved finger groove! Option 2,3,4 - All very similar can be done with any material and the rail can also be done in aluminium. Can feel very agricultural when opening as everything is dead square!! This is not sharknose Option 5 - Sharknose, when done properly there should be a 5mm flat point on the top edge which should resist damage. For me feels the best out of all the options.
