The Australian market is always a bit different though. Some might take that as we are behind but I don't think so at all. Rather, we have a different lifestyle and different tastes and trends follow. Those very high end trends take a long time to filter down to the mid-range domestic market too and many never make it. The short version is that I believe that 30-40mm tops will remain popular in Australia for many years to come. For me personally I still like the look of a micro thin bench against the wall contrasted with a thick and substantial island. Of course, your taste might vary I ran into trouble finding a lock that would fit my particular door, like your situation with your pivot door.
