Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jan 03, 2015 9:42 pm Could anyone help me to choose a Double Wall Oven to replace my 10 year old Westinghouse with separate griller. Because I have the space i think a double oven would suit my husband and myself better. I don't know anything about them but a smaller one would be great for us everyday and when the family come over we could use both . Thankyou in advance. Re: How to choose a Double Wall Oven 2Jan 04, 2015 7:45 am Have a look at two separate ovens instead. We did that for two reasons. A. We wanted a pyro (everyday use) and standard (family functions) B. If one breaks you can replace only that or both C. It was cheaper than a double oven Re: How to choose a Double Wall Oven 3Jan 04, 2015 6:50 pm Thanks for the reply. I never thought of two separate ovens. Because I have my microwave in the tower that space may need to be adjusted maybe make a little shorter in the length as 2 standard may not fit. Re: How to choose a Double Wall Oven 8Jan 07, 2015 3:11 pm If you're getting two separate ovens, one can also be a combi-steam oven which you can steam, bake, or grill in it. You can get a full size oven with combi-steam functions (bake+steam) or a compact one (around 45cm high) if you don't have enough space. Probably more versatile than a normal oven as you can do a lot of things in the steam oven (e.g. risotto, vegies, fish, pasta, reheating, defrosting, etc) and it cooks much better than a microwave. Most brands have compact combi-steam ovens to match their full-size ovens but if you want a full-size combi-steam oven (60cm high), only some brands make them such as AEG, Miele and VZug.
