I thought it just had to be a veneer... Oh well! I'd be very interested to see what it actually is... I'd love it if i could use it on something myself! Our feature colour cabinets in our Kitchen, Living Room, Dining, Study, Ensuite, Bathroom and Laundry are all a wood look laminate. We had originally chosen the Polytec European Walnut Gloss but then the more we looked and looked at it we thought it was too red for what we wanted. We then went to a timber veneer which looked great (and was super expensive) but was not glossy. We then went to a Laminex Showroom as say the Satin Heartwood in Crystal Gloss on a large panel and was exactly what we want. Not sure if it is the exact same laminate used in this display home, but it's what we have gone with and it looks pretty close to being the exact same. Our cabinets are currently getting made as we are nearing lock up with our build with the first floor cabinets going in first. Hopefully its this colour and we haven't made a mistake. Anxious to see. I suggest to go have a look at the Laminex showroom and see the crystal gloss board on display and see what you think! Anyone got any idea of the brand and colour? It's an Averna display home in WA called the Villa Amore. http://www.avernahomes.com.au/wp-conten ... 3/0174.jpg http://www.avernahomes.com.au/wp-conten ... 3/0081.jpg http://www.avernahomes.com.au/wp-conten ... 03/041.jpg Thanks in advance Laminex Satin Heartwood in a vertical run - if its the wood one? Re: Help me find this laminate 14Feb 27, 2015 1:50 pm Treeseachanger Maybe it is the gloss version of Laminex satin heartwood? http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/88Ensuitetiling_zpsc9d88953.jpg This is my matt cabinet. The camera makes it look slightly pink on my screen (but it's not). One of the pics posted appears to have light sap lines like the heartwood and also the darker charcoal lines. The gloss finish highlights the colors in the laminex so that it appears to be slightly different than the matt. Yep, I'm pretty sure its the gloss version as I got some samples and it looked very much like a flooring timber which did look beautiful. Re: Help me find this laminate 15Mar 08, 2015 12:29 pm Hi everyone, Our Ensuite cabinets were delivered to site on Friday and the laminate in the pictures you are after is the Laminex Crystal Gloss - Satin Heartwood. Will post a picture of what ours look like soon We specified ours to be laid horizontal so just be mindful of this as it makes a big difference with the grain Re: Help me find this laminate 16Mar 08, 2015 3:31 pm Hi Champ, i will be interested to see how much difference to the colour the finish makes! We didn't specify horizontal although I was tempted, but we were going for a more countryfied "natural" feel to this build (to match surroundings).
