I asked why they needed to run a separate conduit for the GPO, couldn't they run it off the dishwasher? Answer was NO. Happy at Home Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 23Jun 15, 2008 10:50 am Will be interested to see what they say to you, someone else on the forum paid less for their conduit to Island. This all happened last Friday as up until that point they weren't going to install the GPO in QQ. I'm going to ring our sales guy today and see if he has put this through before for a previous client and if so what the charge was. Will buy my own cover after handover - much cheaper if I pop into an electrical supplier like John R Turk. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 25Jun 15, 2008 2:14 pm I actually would have put that power point on the side drop, so it wasn’t visible from the front. Lol, It is the side drop Mish, and the dead side at that! Hard to tell from pics sometimes Paula Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 31Jun 16, 2008 9:40 am mm I was wondering about PPs myself, I'm thinking GPOs with alum style faceplate would blend quite nicely, could put a double on each end of the bench. thanks for the great idea Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 32Jun 16, 2008 9:44 pm Hi all,
I am just wondering how that would go with water spills. Is there anything to prevent water from dripping into the gpo if water was spilt over the edge? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 33Jun 17, 2008 9:13 am mel Hi all, I am just wondering how that would go with water spills. Is there anything to prevent water from dripping into the gpo if water was spilt over the edge? Sorry if it seems like a stupid question Well, thats something I've not thought of..... Our sink is far enough away that I shouldnt be spilling any water on that side. Also the way the kitchen is set up, I tend to do all the cooking preperation on the other side where there is no power point. So look carefully on the layout of your kitchen and place it on the side that is not use as much. Paula Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 34Jun 17, 2008 10:15 am hmm it is not a stupid question however water could run right down the face without actually getting into the GPO itself, it would need a constant stream IMV to be a concern.
Besides if it did get in the earlth leakage circuit breaker would trip. that is one reason those things are fitted. Just my 2 bobs worth Re: Location of p/point on island bench ? 35Jun 17, 2008 11:38 am Southies Thanks htb for your input, am happy with the look now. Hadn't seen it before. Our charge for the cover/faceplate thingy was $14.00 through PD, probably the cheapest upgrade we've had!! Ok going to seem like a real negative nelly here, but you have to hope the earth leakage trips. Chances when it is new it will, a few years down the track they can fail and not trip Just something to consider. ELB are designed to work reliably for many, many years, peoples lives depend on them. Besides you should get an electrical check up every few years anyway for peace of mind. ask the surveyor for clarification would be the logical approach 1 20134 |
