This forum would be much more active if direct uploading were possible. From someone who runs other forums, I'm guessing the reason why the forum owners here do not allow direct uploading of pictures is simply the space that they take up on the server package that they are using. This is a pretty active forum in the first place, so I could imagine how fast the server space would fill up if all the pictures were being saved on the server. Yes, a forum admin can purge all the old photos periodically, but that leaves broken links in the older posts, which aren't much fun for people searching the older posts. Off site picture hosting is really the smartest way of running a very active forum like this one.
