Many significant marks can be polished out on site - and if the damage is too bad to polish out, the affected area can be cut out and a new piece inserted. Once everything is polished up again it will look like new. On that point, Caesarstone are the only engineered stone manufacturer I know of who guarantee to keep their colours in stock for ten years from the time of sale to facillitate any repair work that may be required in that period. We found an offcut in the skip and bought a piece home and we have given it the once over, sharp knives ( and really cut hard on it!), things dropped on it from heights etc. and not a mark!
