Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Oct 06, 2014 1:15 pm I'm going to start a thread to try and collate our kitchen plans so far. It'll be two and a half months until I can go in and rip out the old kitchen, this will help the time pass in the meantime. This is the kitchen as it currently stands. There isn't enough bench space for us, which is probably our primary concen when it comes to kitchens Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ IMG_1904 by thecrypt4, on Flickr (also, that's not a washing machine, but a freezer.) This is the plan for the cupboards. We were planning to put it together ourselves from flatpack. Our preferred supplier is shutting down over christmas, so if you know any other flatpack suppliers in the Tweed/Gold Coast regions, please let us know! Thank you for understanding. Re: Planning our kitchen 2Oct 06, 2014 3:45 pm Hi there, it would help if could put up a plan with room measurements, incl windows and door measurements and if your water is at a fixed position and if so where (measurements). Your oven will be a wall oven? Your induction cooktop will be which size, 600, 800, 900? Will it have to be at fixed position because of the rangehood exit (1500mm hole into ceiling or wall)? How high is the ceiling? What height will be your benchtop (carcus, worktop and plinth) and high cabinets? What kind of sink do you want, single, 1.5 or 2 bowls? It although would help to upload a house floor plan as that makes it easier to understand the "flow" of the house. Re: Planning our kitchen 3Oct 06, 2014 5:08 pm Freestanding cooker (yep, I know some people hate them) at 900. I don't know the celing height off the top of my head, but they are reasonably high. Cabinets would ideally be 560 depth and bench height around 900 Ideally I would like a 1.5 sink with two drainers, but these seem impossible to find (or at least, very, very expensive. Here are two versions of the house plans - one withough the kitchen drawn in. The measurements are rough. If so, you don't actually need drainers, you gain a lot more bench space. Why would you like 2 drainers? You have a dishwasher I assume? I will play around with it after dinner. Re: Planning our kitchen 5Oct 06, 2014 7:34 pm We do have a dishwasher, but we're both a little old fashioned and like to actually use the sink now and then. A second drainer sometimes comes in handy if you want to stack your dishes before washing them. Quite a few people will strenuously object, but we are actually going for a plywood timber benchtop. This is a combination of aesthetic, cost, functionality and a part of the overall design with the adjoining room. Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Re: Planning our kitchen 7Oct 07, 2014 11:18 am option 2 without corner pantry but tall cabinets and corner dresser cabinet ignore the square in front of the dishwasher, it represents the open door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Planning our kitchen 8Oct 10, 2014 3:06 pm We have a corner pantry, and I love it. You can see everything, plenty of space. Re: Planning our kitchen 9Oct 10, 2014 3:12 pm We'll likely model ours after the corner pantry in our old house. That pantry was the bomb Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Re: Planning our kitchen 10Oct 10, 2014 4:47 pm Evelyn, what software are you using? Also, are you on Houzz? There are a few people on there who ask about kitchens who could certanly benefit from your help! In other kitcheny news: ordered 120 tiles for splashback and wall behind the sink. The wonderful ebay seller is going to hold them for us until December so we can pick them up and save on postage. What a champion! Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Re: Planning our kitchen 11Oct 10, 2014 6:11 pm I'm using a software from a large German Kitchen manufacturer called ALNO. Houzz is too global, too many different regulations, sizes, preferences and soforth. I'm participating on a very large German kitchen forum which is rather professional in regard to the help they provide. There are exceptional contributors who spend a lot of their leisure time in helping others. Re: Planning our kitchen 12Oct 10, 2014 6:17 pm Fair enough. Thanks for the help anyway. Houzz has an australian website now, launched a few months ago. Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me.
