Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Aug 22, 2014 8:56 am Hi. Need advice as I am having trouble selecting from the myriad of WHITE paint colours for my upper kitchen cupboards. We have selected a shaker style cabinet- bevilled edge, in a two pack satin polyurethane. The lower kitchen cabinets will be in Dulux Passionate Blue. The floors are timber, spotted gum The bench top is Caesarstone Ocean foam. Appliances are stainless steel The kitchen faces south but the house is quite light filled. It is a beach house and the rest of the walls around the house are in a lighter blue. Any thoughts on the white that will work best on the upper kitchen cabinets? many thanks PS this is my first post so i haven't worked out how to show colours in this post. Re: What white paint colour on kitchen cabinets 2Aug 26, 2014 3:58 pm I think the most important aspect is that the white you choose is totally neutral or leans cool, rather than having any antiquey warmth whatsoever. Personally I would probably go with Polar White - or if in Dulux colours, probably Vivid White. I know you say your house is very bright but I would be inclined to keep it simple and bright, especially with all the crisp blues around. (FWIW - which is not much because our house sounds very different from your beach house! - we have greenish slate floors, grey benchtops, Natural White walls, shaker 2-pack cabinets in Vivid White and I really like the pop of the true white) Re: What white paint colour on kitchen cabinets 4Aug 27, 2014 4:32 pm Agree with splashers. However,if you can be satisfied with the oats that have already been through the horse, that comes a little cheaper. You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9959 Thanks mate.
