Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Jul 29, 2014 5:37 pm Hi all, I'm interested in getting some opinions on placement of a steam oven + normal oven. They are going to be placed next to the rear bench on the left. ATM, they are side by side, but one of these oven units may be somewhat hidden behind the front door surface of the fridge and pantry. The pro would be that they would both be of ergonomic height. In this kitchen layout however, would it be better to place these in a stack (steam oven on top of oven) from an aesthetic or functional point of view? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Would the more vertical look of a 'tower of ovens' look more balanced or better, than what a configuration with what would appear to be a largely single visible oven? (We are thinking of going for a more stream lined look - handleless, white kitchen with stone benchtops) Would there be much ergonomic difference? Thanks in advance. Re: Steam Oven + Oven Placement - side by side or stacked? 2Jul 29, 2014 5:50 pm I personally wouldn't put them side by side as I believe they are different heights. Oven is probable 596high and steam oven around 460-500mm?? I think it would look strange side by side with them not lining up. To circumvent that, we'd probably have to put a warming drawer under the steam oven, to make them match up. I presume the red is a wall or backsplash? and the grey upside down T-shape is a rangehood? We are think of having overhead cubboards running across the rear bench, with undermount rangehood. Windows would be not be tall, fitting under the cupboards. Would there be an issue having a cupboard or oven next to the wall on the far side (right side) though? Re: Steam Oven + Oven Placement - side by side or stacked? 9Jul 30, 2014 11:39 am maybe not, it looks like you have a sliding door there. What is that room? we added in pantry's that are 50cm wide next to the oven. in doing so our ovens moved out of the walkway into the larder.
