Is it possible to somehow “re-enamel” your kitchen bench top so it’s almost as if you put on a veneer over the existing top? Our kitchen bench top is fine, but I’d LOVE a darker, more sophisticated and classy granite or dark marble look. (LOOK, not real. I don’t need actual granite or marble. Just whatever looks the same and is hard wearing) Is it possible to just put it over the top of the existing one like a veneer? Or is it better to remove the existing top and put the new one? How much would either option cost, in any case? Our kitchen is nice, but fairly small. Not a heap of bench to do. (see pic in the thread about building in shelves to the breakfast bar wall) Sorry its taken me a while to respond to this thread Firstly, if your existing benchtop has square edges on it, it can be relaminated over the existing laminate Sometimes they can cut the rounded (postformed) edges off, then relaminate as per above Other option is to replace all together As I'm in a diiferent state to you, prices will vary, but here in Adelaide, prices to supply and install a benchtop is about $157 per lineal meter, for a 600mm deep benchtop Best Price Wardrobes Sliding door robes | Walk in robes Deco panel | Mirror | Melamine 26 to 28 Cottage lane Hackham M: 0402 927 376 http://www.bestpricewardrobes.com.au Trade welcome Building Standards; Getting It Right! I see if they can adjust the hinges. 4 2442 ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 6203 |
